The present dissertation aims at approaching the term δόξα in its political aspect within Plato's dialogue Teeteto. Starting from an etymological and lexical itinerary of the term, its meanings were featured both in Plato's and in commentators of Plato's work. Throughout the study of the dialogue, we noticed that δόξα is a key term for the whole development of the concept of knowledge. In chosen excerpts from the dialogue, there is the defense of Protagoras that exposes a specifically political way of interpreting δόξα. At the end of this study, we identify an image of the philosopher in the dialogue that leads our investigation to understand how the Platonic philosophy deals with political issues
