Resumo: |
This research has its main focus on the relationship between the cognitive musical development and the personal, lifetime acquired abilities, intending to demonstrate that, in spite of the hiatus throughout adult life, the musical experience lived during childhood can be expanded and enhanced even during eldership. The hypothesis we try to validate is that cartographed experiences related to selffulfillment provoke the desire for new apprenticeship, as years go by. To investigate this thesis, we conducted field researches and interviews with five different elders, all of them part of the Chorando Baixinho musical group, which has been presenting shows on the Chorinho circuit at Vitória (ES). The researched musicians have had contact with Chorinho during childhood, but it was only after an older age that they could finally develop their musical abilities, by means of a continuous learning process. Nowadays, they use the music as a means to socially interact, enjoy the intergeneration experience, preserve their self esteem and self sufficiency - thus appreciating a successful elderly life |
