Resumo: The aim of this study is to investigate how Florbela Espanca explores love through body sensations in her oeuvre and how she revisits and updates Camões’ in relation to this aspect. Therefore, we started our journey analyzing how love was worked in the classical poetry of Camões, then contrasting it with Florbela’s modern poetry. We go through Camoes lyric’s aiming to demonstrate how the author works love in a platonic key; then we observe how this body in Florbela´s is reframed, from a more contemporary thought, in which we locate the modernity of her poetic proposal. Thus, we will base our study initially in Plato and then the criticism of Plato by Nietzsche, philosopher that will base our research regarding a new body view, also present in florbelian poetry. In this sense, finally, sensationalism, poetic movement theorized by the poet Fernando Pessoa, contributes to this research, helping to formalize the type of this sensitivity in the treatment of love in Florbela’s poetry. At the end , we concluded that Florbela Espanca is well aware of the tradition in which it operates , looking in its precursor a love that is closely linked to the body, using their feelings as raw material, played by art, beyond the limits of time , definitely going to modernity
