Resumo: The dissertation focus is pointed to the support actor, who assists his scene partner to reach the unexpected meaning of the situation: commonly known as the “boring one”. It is taken for certain that this element is essential in the construction of the funny aspect of skits. Based on the social-cognitive conception of the interacting language and studies about the the joke genre, the participation of the character Raimundo Nonato, played by Chico Anysio in humorous television program Escolinha do Professor Raimundo, is put under the spotlight, as we seek to understand his acting as an element of the interactional relationship in which it takes place. Therefore, this dissertation aims the understanding of the supporting actor’s role construction inside a humorous context. For this, the recurrence of characteristic elements were listed in the format in which they are stated, after establishing a short outlook of the national skits production. A role review was proposed, as well as a review of the genre joke, inside the context of humour, so that the supporting actor of Escolinha do Professor Raimundo could be investigated. An analysis was made comparing the coordinated aspect of corpus and the preponderance of elements related to the humoristic formula. In a nutshell, the supporting actor nature was exposed, the nature of this pertinent role, the nature of a co-author of laugh, and the relations that can be established between him and the others participants of the skit Escolinha
