Resumo: This research explores the significance of spaces and environments within the domain of Participatory Pedagogies in Early Childhood Education. By delving into the concepts of space and environment, the study distinguishes their nuances and recognizes them as fundamental pillars in the process of teaching and learning. The methodological approach is qualitative and based on bibliographic research and documental analysis, enabling an immersion into the historical timeline of Participatory Pedagogies. Along this journey, influential figures such as Froebel, Dewey, Montessori, Malaguzzi, and Pickler emerge as conduits of reflection. Within the outlined context, the curricular intersections facilitated by spaces and environments take center stage, echoing the concept of hidden curriculum proposed by Forquin (1993). This study's contributions manifest in the domain of pedagogical practice and the training of early childhood education teachers. It brings to up both theoretical and practical perspectives on the subject, while also sparking discussions about the relevance of spaces and environments as integral components of the curriculum. Furthermore, this study points out questions that invite further exploration in future investigations, reinforcing a proactive and dynamic approach
