Resumo: |
Given that the formation of the ruling elite was directly linked to the Law College of São Paulo (LCSP), we sought to unveil this environment through the study of its main journal, the Magazine of the Law College of São Paulo (MLC) between 1893, when its publication began, and 1913, when it was abruptly interrupted due to the scarcity of paper in the World War I period. Consisting of sections in which were published doctrinal strands, political and curricular positions, dialogues between intellectuals for the construction and analysis of codes, theories and also the way of teaching certain disciplines, we seek to understand what was intended with the law course of the time, what was the predominant discourse in relation to the College, and who were the main intellectual jurists involved with its production. The knowledge produced and recorded in this journal is the means to understand the legal thinking created by the LCSP. This paper hypothesizes that the magazine solidifies the idea of law as a distinguished and prestigious career, while building and analyzing national jurisprudence. Therefore, the MLC itself was the object of study, treating the magazine as Catani (1994) who sees the journals as excellent documentation for the observation of the teaching community, the circulation of ideas and the capture of political and ideological debates of the environment that published it |
