The objective of the work refered to the understanding of the structure and standard of familiar functioning presented by such families which possess a model based on the Japanese culture, searching to perceive how such aspects influence in the relation established among grandmothers-fathers-grandsons. Four interviews with grandmothers and grandsons have been carried through, using a qualitative methodologial referential in a systemic familiar approach and the results have pointed to the importance of the beliefs, affective standards, authority, loyalty and delineation of the familiar borders for the confrontation of the situation of separateness of the group caused by the migration of some of its members |
