Resumo: |
The present dissertation aims to investigate the evolution of corporate liability for acts of corruption in Brazil as a result of the internationalization of anti-corruption efforts. To this end, we analyze international milestones such as the Watergate case, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and various international conventions addressing the issue. Subsequently, the study outlines the development of Brazilian legislation both before and after the ratification of international conventions and the enactment of key laws, such as the “Anti-Corruption Law” (Federal Law No. 12.846/2013). The research assesses the impacts of this law after a decade, including changes in the perception of corruption, the current relationship between the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Brazil, the culture of integrity, and the legal and logical feasibility of strict corporate liability under Federal Law 12.846/2013 |
