Resumo: |
Introduction: The focus of this study is to reflect upon the health promoting actions emphasizing voice, which are most committed to the needs of the population, making them co-responsible and committed to their own quality of life. Aim: To identify and analyze health promoting actions emphasizing voice, taken by Speech Therapists from the Family Health Program of the East and Southeastern districts of the city of São Paulo, based on descriptive flowcharts. Methods: Family health units were analyzed, making a total of six different Speech Therapy service locations. The subjects were the Speech Therapists who are responsible for the service. They answered an interview, based on four semi-open questions. The data analysis was based on Franco (2003), and was made through flowcharts which designed the flow of service users. Results: Most subjects concern themselves about understanding the users needs, and base their actions upon listening and establishing empathy with the user. They make sure their actions make sense to the service user, and that their actions take place by means of an analysis of the relationships the user establishes with himself and with society. The proposed activities involve talking about speech-therapy related issues, and take place upon demand of the local area population. With regards to the concepts of health promotion, most subjects point out that, in order for this promotion to occur effectively, it is most important to achieve improvements in overall quality of life, and to make the patient take responsibility for his health. Conclusions: When analyzing the subjects speeches, it may be noted that, in order to achieve a form of comprehensive assistance, aimed at the promotion of overall health, it is necessary to consider important aspects such as: teamwork; considering the needs of the local area population; Using the resources available at the health unit and in the community, as well as developing partnerships with other sections; Increasing listening skills and boding with the user, in order to help him take responsibility for his health and self-care; flexibility so that the professional is free to create actions based on the users needs |
