This paper s objective was to identify and to point, in Arnaldo Jabor s chronicle, the evidences that are part of the irony, through the everyday life aspects and the author s intention on criticizing the facts that he presents. The theme s choice is strictly related to the presence of this genre, which is more present in the human being s current life every day. The author was chosen because we believe that he is an outstanding chronicle criticizer. Furthermore, he has an instigating way of writing about the issues he observes
