Resumo: |
One of Oswald de Andrade's (1890-1954) works main characteristics is its political content. Such production comes from a very diverse political context, marked by a whole new set of symbolical and sensitive frontiers, in which Andrade's primitivist based program of cultural revision, Pau Brasil, points to an alternative political project that equally differs from agrarian-based conservativism, and both rampant modernization. This study intends to shed light on Pau Brasil's historical dimension by analyzing its representations of the colonial past, which are read as allegories of his appreciation of Brazil's both social and cultural realities. Through this analysis, a distinct political culture emerges during that time, and Pau Brasil's publishing marks or even begins such period with concrete historical implications |
