Impacto da presença de gestores e professores homens em centros de educação infantil: alguns elementos para compreensão

Resumo: This research aims to investigate the conditions that run through the teaching and the manager of professional men working at a Children's Education Center. It is about analyze, in a municipal school of early childhood education Sao Paulo, how is the compatibility between gender and duties performed and how recognition are expressed, acceptance and identification of the roles of the subjects in their respective areas - Director and Professor - men - the community / families and faculty. Guides to research the hypothesis that the recognition of the man teacher or man manager, in the effective exercise of their functions in early childhood education, including take care of the children, can deconstruct the classic gender binary. This research was conducted through qualitative research using the analytic and descriptive method to understand the vision, that the technical staff, faculty and student’s parents in an early childhood education school, expressed about the presence of men as a teacher and principal in the effective exercise of their duties in basic education level, as well as their role in interacting with the children on the school daily routine. A, early childhood municipal school that has in its composition at least one teacher and a manager professional - male and whose technical staff and faculty agreed to participate was selected to research. Data collection were performed through: a) Document analysis and individual semi-structured interviews. The survey was conducted with the support of authors like Berger and Luckmann (the contribution in relation to the primary socialization of concepts and secondary), Apple and Scott (for their studies on the concept of "gender" as a category of analysis in education). To these authors are added researchers as Carvalho, Brown and Blond (whose research brings guiding theoretical and methodological reflections for further studies). The results confirm in part the hypothesis investigated: on the one hand, it appears that the presence of men in predominantly female space makes it possible the debate and break of discourse and sexist practices and social gender roles. In the other hand, the results lead to new research questions about the presence of men in the school environment of early childhood education and the possibility that these presence and action can bring some change in this socialization space, breaking with the work organization on professionals’ genre and bringing this environment, referrals from your primary and secondary socialization, different from that professional women have
