Resumo: In that investigation combined with the line of research in Education, Curriculum and Evaluation of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo), I`ve questioned some issues related to the hegemony of the evaluation as a measure in the teaching actions and conceptions, and the need for the teachers development face a more formative and emancipatory guiding in evaluation. The research aimed to use the reflection and practice in evaluation as a strategy for development, contributing to the building and change of theoretical-practical constructs in evaluation in the service of learning with teachers of Elementary and Higher Teaching of the Adventist Academic Center of São Paulo (Centro Universitário Adventista de São Paulo). To interfere in the course of the educational action while conducted oneself for an investigation of a qualitative nature was a methodological option coherent with the critical-dialectical perspective, by interpreting the dynamics of the contradiction existing in the construction of reality and the possibilities of overcoming these contradictions in the course of actions. The research was characterized as a search-action where the related issues to the conceptual and practical challenges faced by teachers in the classroom were articulated with worries concerning to the continued development. The collective seminars with the eight participant teachers (December 2004 - April 2006), individual interviews with teachers and students, the documental analysis and the evaluation focal group constituted that investigation procedures. Considering that the process of change is not made all at once, but by successive approximations, the research indicated the importance of a project of continuing development and a proposal for a curriculum and educational management that allow the teacher formulate a wider theoreticalpractical representation to guide his actions, talking the epistemology of the practice with studies and investigations in the area, opening ways that could be theorized, discussed and reconceptualized. Although radical changes have not been observed in the conceptions and teaching practices in evaluating, a significant increase could be registered through the participants testimony in the process and in the focal group as a contribution for their self-evaluation of the practice; an increase of conflicts, contrasts and questionings before the evaluation; a diversification strategies of the student attendance, and the opportunity to collectively reflect on a so complex subject as the evaluation, which arose the strengthening of concepts and attitudes a little more critical in the analysis of the conceptions that guide our practices, often solitary, ingenuous and disconnected of a wider political, economic and social meaning
