Resumo: |
It treats on investigating the reception of the logicist thesis in the context of Ernst Cassirer’s early epistemology. In order to fulfill such task, it will be made four movements. The first two contextual: one treating briefly the mathematical horizon in which the thesis was inserted; and another one, related to the Neo-Kantian school in which the mentioned philosopher was a member, the Marburg School. In the third it will be the time of Cassirer’s 1910 text, Substanzbegriff und Funktionsbegriff: in it we will see the author’s starting point, his position on logicism, its sui generis character, and his criticism upon two very important authors in that program (Frege and Russell).
