Resumo: |
This thesis is part of the research line Text and discourse in oral and written modalities and is based on the theoretical assumptions of Rhetoric, with Aristotle (2014, 2011a, 2011b) and Quintiliano (2016, 2015) and the New Rhetoric of Perelman and Olbrechts -Tyteca (2000), Reboul (2000), Meyer (2007, 1994), in addition to studies by Ferreira (2010), Tringali (2014), Mosca (2004) and Figueiredo (2020). Furthermore, it is based on studies of: memory, developed by Graeff and Graebin (2018), Halbwachs (2009) and Ostrower (2021); of myth, made by Campbell (2015 [1992], 2013 [1989], 1997), Brandão (2016, 2014) and Eliade (2019 [1978]); and the short story, made by Câmara Cascudo (2013 [1999], 2012, 2011, 2008 [1952]), Coelho (2012, 2010) and Tatar (2004). Based on this theoretical framework, it is proposed to investigate, under the theoretical-methodological approach of Rhetoric, how the multisensory memory is manifested in the traditional tale Little Red Riding Hood, recreated by Perrault, in 1697, and by the Brothers Grimm, in 1812, it starts from the relations of the rhetorical system with the categories: thought, word and languages, which are intertwined with memory. Thus, the theoretical pairs are highlighted: inventio and thought – materialization of symbols for communication –, dispositio and word – semantic constructions for the composition of discourse – and, finally, elocutio and languages – human representations of culture, in society, manifested by corporeality and intersected by multisensory memory. A state-of-the-art framework on memory is presented and the concept of multisensory memory is proposed. The myth and the tale are presented in concepts and origins. An echo of the myth is identified in the tale. The analyzes highlight the presence of the heuristic rhetorical function in the myth and the pedagogical function in the tale. The effectiveness of the pedagogical function occurs in the use of the symbolic metaphor, which carries the intentionality and the rhetorical context of the moment of the rhetorical-discursive production of each recreator. As a result, it appears that, in the composition and form of the narration, through the description of sensory details, the multisensory memory is manifested in the tale, in the representation of the culture of a people, in the highlighting of traditions and customs. In this way, the rhetorical act takes place in discourse |
