Resumo: The Fourth Industrial Revolution with its 4.0 technologies, such as AI, Advanced Robotics, IoT, Big Data, will bring changes in the job market, as well as changes in worker qualification. Therefore, it is important to understand what industry 4.0 means, its emergence, its functioning and the technologies involved. The developed countries that are part of the OECD are dominating the development of these technologies and many of them are still found in the laboratories of universities and in the research and development centers of large companies. Therefore, the central discussion is about the future of work in OECD countries, changes in worker qualification, the challenge of guaranteeing jobs for all and public policies that developed countries are designing to qualify their future workforce and especially workers. who are active to make, through training, the transition from routine jobs and tasks with low use of 4.0 technologies to non-routine jobs and tasks and high use of digital technology, as this could result in the polarization of work among workers and between countries, in fact it is already happening. Another important debate is about the automation of jobs, as some alarmist scholars speak of complete destruction of jobs, but other more moderate authors say that there will be no destruction of occupations, but of tasks performed, therefore, occupations will undergo significant changes. And finally, the evolution of the future market of these 4.0 technologies, and the possibilities of new professions and the job opportunities they will generate
