Resumo: This dissertation aims to highlight the (re)reading of classics by the contemporary picturebook in its multimodality. In order to carry out this goal, we selected as corpus the works Pinóquio – o livro das pequenas verdades (2019) and Este é o lobo (2020), by Alexandre Rampazo, an important contemporary Brazilian author of works preferentially addressed to children and youth. This study aims, therefore, to point out how the triad – verbal text, illustration and design, present in Rampazo's picturebooks promote a reinterpretation of classic tales. It considers the hypothesis that (re)reading is promoted at two levels: through the picturebook and its multimodal composition and parody. The research, qualitative, bibliographical and exploratory-descriptive, is organized in two chapters. In the first, composed of two items, Teresa Colomer, Regina Zilberman, Marisa Lajolo and Nelly Novaes Coelho help us to understand the presence of the picturebook in contemporary children's literature and the panorama of children's literature in Brazil and, in this way, situate the author of the selected works as corpus. Also in this chapter, in its second item, we explore what is conceived as a picturebook from the perspective of researchers such as Sophie Van der Linden, Maria Nikolajeva, Carole Scott, Ana Margarida Ramos and Lawrence R. Sipe, and identify subsidies for the analysis of contemporary picturebook. Then, we explore the characteristics of each of the languages that make up the picturebook – text, illustration, graphic design – with the support of researchers such as Peter Hunt, Sophie Van der Linden, Rui Oliveira, Lawrence R. Sipe, Maria Nikolajeva, Carole Scott and Luís Camargo, presenting examples of this type of production in contemporaneity. The second chapter, in turn, is organized into three items. In the first and the second, it’s analyzed the corpus – based on a multimodal reading – pointing out how the (re)reading of classics occurs in Pinóquio – o livro das pequenas verdades and Este é o Lobo. In the third item, we highlight the points of convergence and differences between the two analyzed works by promoting the (re)reading of classics. For this, we consider the ideas of Teresa Colomer, Italo Calvino, Ana Maria Machado, Tânia Carvalhal, Affonso Romano de Sant'Anna and Linda Hutcheon
