This paper analyzes the issue of the right to image from a civilian perspective, in the face of the challenges imposed by technology and by the advent of social networks above all. The study investigates the changes occurred in the right to image since its acclaim as a right of the personality and as autonomous of others rights until the present day. The research also seeks to present concepts that are not well known in the law, but which are fundamental to understand the dimension of new technologies and their supporting role in today's society. Through national jurisprudence, the present work demonstrates the importance of the right to the image within the context of social networks
