Resumo: |
This research aims to discuss and analyse methods of character creation and development in several medias, focusing on games. Hopefully, this study can be helpful as a reference material for writers, screenwriters, and game developers. In this project videogame history will be analysed, along with some methods to develop narratives. Then, some characters will be analysed, focusing more on the narrative, or context, psyche, and behaviour, just as some design pointers, reflecting and elucidating how to create captivating characters for the public, with them being interesting and well written, without recycling them from other narratives. The research method is strictly bibliographic, by which hints will be given to enrichen the experience that the developers and writers want to deliver. Although the research’s main focus is games, recently most of the consumed narratives are transmedia, making this a valuable research not only for games, but for other entertainment medias |
