This dissertation seeks to understand how the theme of death is presented to society from the analysis of Netflix series. Based on the languages of religion and other areas of knowledge, the research presents a theoretical review of the interpretations and relevance that the term "death" has acquired over the centuries and the way this subject is presented to society through the television media of series. With the research, it was possible to verify that these productions and their conceptions about death and the after-death, even if unreal, can corroborate the beliefs taught by religions, since they idealize hell and personas with human characteristics and feelings. Furthermore, the results resulting from this study bring to the discursive arena a topic of paramount importance and emphasize the multiplicity of interpretations that death and the afterlife are held in society, whether due to the influence of religion, culture or even media channels, such as to Netflix
