Resumo: This study aims to analyze the educational path of the Universidad Popular Madres de Plaza de Mayo, founded in 2000. The purpose of establishing a university came out when the mothers, in the late 1990s, visited the MST camp and learned about the educational proposal for political formation conceived by the Brazilian movement. That way, returning to Argentina, the mothers developed several cultural activities inside the institution, such as many preparatory experiences for the foundation of the university whose main purpose was to promote popular academic education with the objective to sustain the human rights. Thus, the university forged by the mothers should be active, not only transmitting knowledge itself, but also providing know-how through integral training that starts from the experience and interaction between the different social groups in the country and in Latin America
