Resumo: INTRODUCTION Resilience is presented as transcendence. It s understood in a psychossomatic perspective. GOALS First, translate, adapt and validate to the Portuguese language and Brazilian culture, the original version of the 2002 Resilience Quotient Test (RQTest) by Karen Reivich and Andrew Shatté, which was named Questionário do Índice de Resiliência: Adultos - REIVICH - SHATTÉ / BARBOSA . The questionnaire aims at measuring 7 factors: 1) Emotions Administration; 2) Impulse Control, 3) Optimism to Life, 9) Ambient Analysis, 5) Empathy, 6) Self Efficacy and 7) Reaching People. Secondarily, evaluate the consistence of how much each of the 56 items is effectively related to its factors. Finally, measure resilience levels, in a sample of 110 elementary school teachers. METHOD: Preliminary versions were evaluated by 12 judges regarding the criteria: Clarity, Simplicity, Sintax and Comprehension, then retranslated to English. The percentage in each of the items was calculated in the judges analysis. In the correlation among the items, we worked out the data crossing process. In the Significance Degree analysis of the correlation we worked with the Qui-Square test. In the correlation between the Positive and Negative aspects of each factor, Pearson s correlation calculation. The correlation of the Socidemographic research with the 56 items, we requested the Contingence Coefficient calculator. The 0,80 Cronbach Alpha meets the internal and temporal consistence. RESULTS: Factor analysis shows that items 29 and 47 do not associate to any of the 7 factors. Item 13 originally belongs to the Emotions Administration factor and, in our research, associated itself to the Impulse Control Factor. Item 15 of the Impulse Control Factor, associated itself to the Causal Analysis Factor. Item 56 of the Emotions Administration Factor, associated itself to the Impulse Control and Optimism to Life Factors. Item 26 of the Emotions Administration Factor, associated itself to the Impulse Control Optimism to life, Self Efficacy and Reachin People Factors. Finally, item 42 of the Impulse Control Factor associated itself to the Emotions Administration, Optimism to Life, Ambient Analysis, Self Efficacy and Reaching People
