Resumo: |
The aim of this research is to investigate the actions that a teacherresearcher uses to supply concepts construction process by her Deaf students, users of the Brazilian Sign Language (Língua Brasileira de Sinais Libras), during a class of mathematics. The teacher-researcher is a hearing person, Libras user. Supported by the Social-Historical and Cultural Theory, the theoretical background includes concepts of mediation (VYGOTSKY, 1930/1991; 1934/2009), spontaneous and scientific concepts (VYGOTSKY, 1934/2009), learning and development (VYGOTSKY, 1991; 1934/2009), Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), collaboration and contradiction (VYGOTSKY, 1934/2009; MAGALHÃES, 2009, 2011; MAGALHÃES e OLIVEIRA, 2011), learning encapsulation (ENGESTRÖM, 1996/2002) and defectology (VYGOTSKY, 1934/2010, 1983/1995; KOZULIN e GINDIS, 2007). It is also based on concepts from Deafness Studies (BARBOSA, 2009; COURTIN, 2002; FERREIRA-BRITO, 1995; GÓES, 1996; MOURA, 2000, 2011; QUADROS, 2003; 2005/2010; QUADROS e KARNOPP, 2004; PADDEN e HUMPHRIES, 2005; MOTTEZ, 2006; SVARTHOLM, 2008; SVARTHOLM e MOURA, 2011) and readings about learning and teaching school mathematics (CÂNDIDO, 2001/2007; CAVALCANTI, 2001/2007; DINIZ, 2001/2007; SMOLE e Diniz, 2001/2007; LORENZATO, 2006; PASSOS, 2006; BLATTO-VALLEE, KELLY, GAUSTAD, PORTER e FONZI, 2007; MATILLAT e GARDIE, 2010). The methodology chosen in this work is that of qualitative case study (TRIVIÑOS, 2008) and an action-research (BURNS, 2010). Data was produced in a school for the Deaf which provides bilingual work, according to the idea that Libras is their first language and portuguese the second one. Linguistic analysis is done based on Conversational Analysis perspective (KERBRAT-ORECCHIONI, 1996/2006; MARCUSCHI, 2007) considering Deaf language (QUADROS e KARNOPP, 2004) and culture (BAHAN, 2011) aspects. Results show that several teacher-researcher actions offer the possibility to create a ZPD context, also considering the singularities of the Deaf, in the way of supplying students concepts construction |
