Having as a background of research the fest ofRosário dos HomensPretos in the community of Milho Verde, in the Serrocity, Minas Gerais, this study assesses the cultural aspects of vissungo, represented here by the language and songs sung by slaves in the mines of Diamantina region, and its interaction with the catopês, dance group that is responsible for conducting the image of the saint in the whole course of the party. In this work, the impacts are ranked in the area of oral and visual communication, involving the preparation of foods and flavors, colors of all ornamentation and intonation used the songs presented during the festival. A thorough field research, with shooting photos and videos, reading and interpretation of texts that relate to its theme and fragments of communication were part of the methodology. Thus, this work examines the issues presented in the documentaries Alforria da Percepção and Ausência, audiovisual productions of the author of the dissertation, which the issues presented above, beyond the routine of dancing, whose analysis of the aspects of the semiotics of culture, especially on texts by Mikhail Bakhtin and EleazarMeletínski and its expansions. The big focus at research is established by the discussions of the sacred and the profane, as well as their forms of communication with the communities who join the party. Moreover, the arguments of Boaventura de Sousa Santos is an important part in the composition and analysis of issues involving the social and political relations as opposed to polyphony, mainly that one directly interfere with the progress of the group catopês during the event. As a complement, the details of the liturgy and communication undertaken by the religiosity of the participants are considered in terms of reverence as the patron saint of the unit element in this process, as well as trade and other parallel events.
