Resumo: This thesis aims to excavate the roots or the "warehouse" of the work of Erico Verissimo from his debut novel - Fantoches (1932/1972) and the last one - the prototext of "A hora do sétimo anjo" (1966 -1975) – which was unfinished. We questioned whether the leitmotiv of literary creation, understood as a reflection on the act of writing, could generate a fracture in the continuum of the history of Verissimo's works, tracing a network of interconnections without depending on an already established chronology. Thus, we elaborate the hypotheses: the “warehouse” as this contingency in place of a split between the linear-historical approach and its fracture, enabling, from an archaeological perspective, the reading of the ruins of narrating through a creative-decreative nucleus; and that of characters-writers, folds of the author, who migrate between narratives as “surviving forms”, with the saga as a scriptural procedure. The theoretical foundations range from literary criticism to philosophical studies focused on poetics. On the act of creation-decreation and the concepts of archeology, history and surviving forms, contributions came from Agamben, Deleuze, Benjamin and Didi-Huberman. Of the critical fortune of the Verissian work were relevant Criação literária em Erico Verissimo, by Maria da Glória Bordini, O contador de histórias: 40 anos de vida literária de Erico Verissimo, organized by Flávio Loureiro Chaves, and materials from the Erico Verissimo Literary Collection. As for methodology, each chapter spreads from a shifting center around a key concept and its derivations, in search of resonances coming from each book of the Verissian project. We conclude that Fantoches and “A hora do sétimo anjo”, read in the fabric of Verissimo's work, reveal the kairós of creation-decreation through the surviving forms that emerge from the anachronism of its history. The contemporaneity of this work is untimely manifested, which does not cease to announce to us new possibilities of meanings
