Resumo: The pandemic has imposed new challenges in all sectors of people's lives and, particularly, in the daily lives of those who are in the teaching environment. Thus, the question that this study intends to answer is: what is the performance of 6th grade students in geometry tests, offered by Centre for Public Policies and Education Assessment of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (CAEd/UFJF) in the academic year of 2020? This is qualitative research using complementary quantitative procedures, comparing performance results in two periods: at the beginning of the year 2020, in the month of March and at the end, in the month of October 2020. The data collected referred to geometry questions, with five classes from the Professor Antônio Firmino de Proença State School, in the city of São Paulo, totaling 164 students. The analysis was done in a descriptive way, considering the frequency and percentages of correct answers, according to the classification proposed by the CAEd, in each skill of the 6th year and by class in each period, comparing similar contents of geometry. Students performed high on skill 2 (96%) and skill 6 (95%). In skills 1 and 7 there was a drop in performance, that is, at the beginning it was 87% and 81% respectively and at the end 62% and 68%. Students maintained average performance in skill 3 (61% and 64%) and in skill 5 (65% and 55%). The results obtained in this work proved to be satisfactory, because even in the time of a pandemic in two skills the student’s obtained performance classified as high in the knowledge of geomet
