The Sítio do Mandú is a typical representative of the patrimonial rural architecture of São Paulo in 1961, located in the neighborhood of Caiapiá, in the city of Cotia. This work is a reflection of how the Mandú Site is understood, internalized and reworked in the everyday life of former residents of the Caiapiá neighborhood. It also investigates how the discourse and practice of public preservation agencies at the federal (IPHAN) as well as at the municipal level (Directorate of Tourism and Culture) influence this process and what conception of heritage and history is present in its Interventions
