Resumo: |
This thesis aims to analyze the theory of corruption, coined by John Patrick Dobel in his article entitled The Corruption of a State, in order to discuss the main impacts on society, as well as the possible antidotes proposed by the author that permeate education, with the purpose of fostering citizen awareness. The studies seek to understand this social phenomenon from the perspective of various areas of knowledge, such as law, political science, philosophy, and public policies, through a comparative study between some countries that have privileged educational aspects to mitigate corruption. In this sense, the main axis is the organizing view of the norm, but it is necessary to understand how human beings acquire their knowledge, justifying them through science. It is worth mentioning that, through this study, it is possible to raise hypotheses regarding the necessary conditions for validating the construction of knowledge, based on the statements and their specific results. For this reason, the hypothetical-deductive method was chosen, as it is a reasoning used in the analysis of the theme, which explores the hypotheses raised by the aforementioned author’s studies, with the purpose of describing a general scenario, very close to reality, to reach specific conclusions. For this, doctrine, legislation, principles, concepts relevant to the researched topic were used as sources of research, in addition to also considering the notes of constitutional law, philosophy and political science. Regarding to the results of this research, it is possible to conclude that the studies, carried out by J. P. Dobel, contributed to the understanding of the dynamics of society, of the State and of the directions, in the scope of corruption, that can be taken by the actors involved in the search of common good. Finally, we highlight, as a contribution to this study, the provision of criteria to guide the making of norms and public policies that aim at human dignity, as a substrate for maintaining the unity of the social fabric, through a healthy internal structure, worshiping institutions, and values such as freedom, family, justice, loyalty and security (public and legal) |
