Nowadays Brazil and the rest of the world are experiencing a new scenario resulting from the crisis of liberal democracy and the emergence of neoliberalism. Neoliberalism is the reason for contemporary capitalism and can be defined as the set of discourses, practices and devices which determine a new mode of men government. The conduct of men is guided by a political and economic rationality extending the logic of capital to all social relations and to all spheres of life. The neoliberal system has made us living in the post-democratic era. Based on this context the goal of this thesis was to find answers that explain the reasons that prevent the political formation of students, teachers and managers of the Public School in São Paulo, especially in High School. The hypothesis of this work started from the idea that lack of political formation is precisely due to the general crisis that contemporary democracies are going through and, especially, the Brazilian democratic process, experienced since the republican establishment of the country, with strong significance in the face of the socioeconomic conditions of its population and with intense influence on the process of Brazilian education. In order to meet the proposed goal, a qualitative methodology was chosen, through an action research, with the high school students of the State Public School, Maria Juvenal Homem de Mello, located on the outskirts of São Paulo city. The project called "Seminar on Political Culture and Youth Protagonism", was procedurally developed in the three years of collegiate education, from 2020 to 2022, during Sociology classes, aiming to provide a critical view of society that we live and a subsequent evaluation of the results achieved, in the absence of political formation in the curriculum of the public education that is being discussed |
