Resumo: INTRODUCTION The man has a strong bond with animals, which potentiate the feelings and human socialization. Therapy using animals gained prominence in the health field, after completion of studies pointed to the beneficial changes occurred in human behavior in their presence (Dotti, 2005). OBJECTIVE investigate the effects of therapeutic riding in speech therapy of children with oral language disorders. METHOD Clinical-quality research, exploratory, developed in study of clinical cases mode. The ethical standarts for research with humans and animals were obeyed. Casuistry Letícia, 4;8 years old, female and Gabriel 5;2 years old, male with both oral language disorders. Procedure Assessment proposed by Protocolo de Observação Comportamental (PROC), before and after the therapeutic process and conventional techniques used in therapeutic riding. RESULTS Therapeutic Riding favored dialogical activities, gestures, expression of feelings and affection of the patients. CONCLUSION Therapeutic Riding was facilitator for the development of oral language of the two cases studied. It is suggested that the Speech Therapy developed more studies about this theme, in different clinical conditions with emphasis on the development of human communication
