The objective of this work is to systematize information disposed in documents and publications regarding the participation of the psychologists of São Paulo in the professional regulation of psychologist in Brazil. By analysis, the effort of Annita Cabral for the formation and creation of a bachelorship course at Universidade de São Paulo was identified. Are her initiatives the creation of the Sociedade de Psicologia de São Paulo and the Associação Brasileira de Psicólogos essential for the organization and institutional representation of the psychologists of São Paulo at their claims. It was concluded that the participation of the psychologists of São Paulo was essential for the formation and the definition of the professional psychologist s legal attributions as established at present
