Resumo: |
Due to the increase in the survival of the elderly and the advances of modern medicine, the phenomenon of longevity has assumed a considerable dimension at the present time, being considered one of the greatest human achievements practically all over the world, which also happens in Brazil. The present study aims to reflect on the relationship between Cognitive Reserve, Active and Aged Aging and to discuss it in some of its aspects, such as thinking about the consequences of the challenge of living for more years. A review was carried out, in an integrative approach, which sought evidences in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) for the descriptors "Cognitive Reserve"; "Aging"; "Old man". This survey allowed the analysis of the scientific articles found, which were included in categories such as: Modalities of approach of the Cognitive Reserve; Cognitive and Aged Reserve; Modalities of approach of the Cognitive Reserve; Reflections on the relationship between categories. Finally, it was verified that there are several ways of preserving the Cognitive Reserve, varying how people's attitudes towards aging and health / illness proceed, depending on the conception of each elderly person and each professional, which varies accordingly to the life history of each subject, and how each inserts itself into society. And that the conquest of living more can translate into living well, a condition favorable to the subject, as well as to the society in which it is inserted |
