Resumo: |
The aesthetic experience has been fascinating people throughout history, being the target of several investigations in different fields of knowledge. In this work, the aesthetic encounter is conceived as an experience of transformation of the self, in so far as it constitutes an encounter with a transformational object, the effects of which are rooted in the experiences with the first caregiver objects. Based on W. Bion’s concept of réverie and on H. Kohut’s of transmuting internalization, the functional dimensions of the transformational object, from which the work of art operates, conveying an intrinsic sublimating potential, are investigated. This perspective legitimizes art as a complex and rich therapeutic device, hence its importance as a promoter of individual and collective health |
