This dissertation aims to research the category subjectivity, based on the historicaldialectical materialist method. It identifies and presents elements of Marxian and Marxist works that contribute to the study and understanding of this category in the ontological perspective that conceives man as a social being. It contributes to abolish the misconception that Marx only took care of economic studies, disregarding the subjective dimension of men, and removes the understanding that subjectivity is constituted naturally
