Resumo: This essay entitled Participatory Budget: Piracicaba s case (1989 1992 and 2001 2004) discuses the experience of the Participatory Budget (PB) in the city of Piracicaba-SP under Workers Party (PT) administration. It analyzes the process of Brazilian redemocratization and the context which emerges the Participatory Budget. It searches to evidence the relationship among democracy conceptions and the Participatory Budget, as a form to improve the representative democracy with the creation of deliberative mechanism at local public administration. The Participatory Budget experiences in Piracicaba acquired a proper feature, thereby it be analyzed in face of other experiences implemented by Workers Party in the cities where this kind of administration were adopted. This analyzes shows us the accomplishments and limits of this practice, especially, in the both experiences of participatory administration that are the object of this study. This essay searches to reconstruct the methodologies applied in the both experiences of PB in Piracicaba. Comparing the experiences of participatory administration from selected variables and incorporating the actor s vision involved at the process at this analyzes. These experiences have accomplishments but have limits too, which reduce your range, and finally try to detect the considerations about future possibilities of Participatory Budget experiences
