Resumo: |
It Checks the guidelines of the curricular proposal introduced by Secretaria de Estado da Educação de São Paulo (State Department of Education of São Paulo) for the discipline of Geography in the Elementary School II (5th to 8th grades) in 2007. For the study of the documents Proposta Curricular para o Ensino Fundamental (ciclo II) e Ensino Médio: documento de apresentação, Orientações para a Gestão do Currículo na Escola, Volume 1 e Cadernos do Professor de Geografia (Curricular Proposal for the School Curriculum - Cycle II and High School: the presentation document, Guidelines for the Management of the School Curriculum, Volume 1 and Books of Geography Teacher), it is used the content under the exploratory and qualitative focus. It is used as theoretical references: reflexions concerning the geographic thinking, the links between cognition and school, conceptions concerning curriculum and the sense that the school has in the contemporaneity. We find that the Secretaria de Estado da Educação de São Paulo (State Department of Education of São Paulo) proposes a curricular reform because of the need to improve the quality of education offered by the state public school and to adjust the school education to the demands of life, activity and work of the XXI century - assigning to it, the sense of ordering, prescribing and control at formulated Curricular Proposal. The guidelines for the teaching of geography show a break with the content and mnemonic teaching of this discipline, but the situations of learning suggested do not follow such instructions, and do not contain questions and adaptations by the teachers. Thus, the new curricular guidelines for teaching geography does not work for the development of skills in students in order to recognize the principles and concepts of Geographic Science and instruments for understanding and action in the world in which they live |
