This work has as objective to identify the representations that were constructed by the inhabitants of the city of Itapetinga from the inclusion of the State University of Southwest Bahia - UESB - , in its territory .The clipping the time that circumscribes the research is directed to the twenty-five (25) years of existence of the university in the city, more specifically, the period of 1980 the 2008. For such end, it was necessary to enter for a peculiar way: the social and historical constitution of the city. Pasture area in where the insertion of the State University of southwestern Bahia, after one decade of existence exceeds the limit imposed by the cattle farms in the urban area inaugurating campus Juvino Oliveira . Moment, which required claims and struggles whose clashes have brought, symbolic mobilizations. This motivation, which served for the hypothesis that: the social representations constructed in a social space are specified / determined by the "relations" and "practical" education. Why have as a central axis "representation", the research support is primarily in the theory of Pierre Bourdieu, but given the complexity of this approach, there was, at times, the need for consideration of other theoretical analysis. Since the representation is a matrix of perception / action, objectivity / subjectivity and as "social field" exercise mutual influence between subjects and objects, this study is closely related to culture and memory, which ensures construction of "social identity". Was used as methodological procedures, the story of life, the semi structured questionnaire and documentary analysis. Thus, research results were analyzed by qualitative research in the light of literature review, with support for interpreting the spoken and written sources |
