This dissertation is a subproject of the institutional research entitled “Psychosocial Impacts and Social Technologies in Vulnerabilized Territories in the Context of the Effects of the Pandemic” of the call CNPq and MCTI nº 25/2020 and proposed studied the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on paid domestic workers, a category predominantly composed of Black women with an extensive history of political organization, considering their intersections and inequalities and taking into account the influence of the colonial heritage presents in the country. Thus, the general objective of this research was to analyze and understand the identity metamorphoses experienced by Black women in relation to their bodies, whether exposed or not, during the pandemic as domestic workers. Its specific objectives aimed at the pandemic's effects on the processes of identity formation of Black women; identifying and analyzing the intersections of inequality, socially and historically constructed in contexts of vulnerability in the process of recognizing oneself as a Black woman, in light of the effects of racialization on the female body as a domestic worker. To achieve the proposed objectives, a qualitative methodology was adopted, using the life history narrative method. In this way, the concepts adopted by Critical Social Psychology were articulated, fostering discussions about the social condition of Black women, and understanding the obstacles imposed on the subject's otherness. It is concluded, therefore, that the pandemic not only exposed existing inequalities but also deepened the difficulties faced by Black domestic workers, highlighting the need for policies and actions that recognize and address these structural issues to promote equity and social justice. The narrative analysis allowed for an understanding of the metamorphoses and potentials for emancipation experienced by the protagonist, outlining a panorama of challenges and achievements that culminated in a fulfilling existence for a woman who went through a challenging journey, resulting in the independent upbringing of her child |
