This paper aims to analyze the impact of socialist feminist ideas for the work of social workers who take part in movements with this kind. Therefore, we tried to rescue the history of western urban feminism, as well as the struggle of women of left with the working class in Europe and Latin America. In order to clarify the differences between the various shades of feminism, it was necessary to refer to studies of Marx, Engels and others marxists, as regards the question of oppression experienced by women in society. The brazilian feminism was analyzed through its historical review present, especially, in Teles (1999) and Pinto (2003). Also was realized a historical study of Social Work, focusing on his professional relationship with the female gender. The milestone that changed the conservative performance of Social Work with the users is in reconceptualization of the profession, when the category approached to feminist demands and to poor and working women. From the reconceptualization and the construction of a political ethical project, linked to a social project without exploitation and oppression, the category s entities, especially the Federal Council of Social Service (Cfess), began to prepare documents, talking about the issue of women and positioning themselves as feminists, with a very prominent class perspective. Finally, was realized the analysis of the interviews with the three surveyed social workers, in order to understand how the ideas present in the feminism socialist has influenced their professional work, with the users, the employing institutions and the work team.
