Resumo: This research aims to analyze the aspects of the conjunctures that involve the notion of rhetoric, parresía, the ethos in the social and political relations that involve power. Thus, the debate on media, politics and society occupies a prominent place in contemporary politics, therefore, it has a privileged place on the agenda of many researchers on the subject, about reflecting with greater depth with regard to information in contemporary society, significantly affecting social, cultural and political processes. A theoretical assessment of the use of rhetoric and parresía in political theory will be made. The realization of this research has a reflection and an attentive look at social issues, combined with a deep academic interest in the relations that establish presidential speeches, society and their concerns. However, the objective is to understand and analyze the use of rhetoric, parresía and ethos in the studies of contemporary politics, and it will be based on the analysis of the speeches held by the ex-presidents elected after the country’s redemocratization (1995-2019). The theoretical basis and methodology to be used is the case study of the selected speeches as well as the presidential inaugural speeches after redemocratization
