Resumo: This dissertation is a political and social analysis of the body from the “Corpo Livre” Movement (body positive or free body), created in 2019, in order to understand whether the influence of this social action has been sufficiently impactful to cause significant changes in the body acceptance of its adherents and in the reduction of body prejudice. The study is developed from an analysis of the history of the body, to create a timeline and to trace the context of how our society sees the body and transforms it, and how prejudice emerged in the molds we have today, in order to understand the need of a social movement like this. As a research method, the social networks used by “Corpo Livre” were analyzed, especially the videos from the Youtube channel by the creator Alexandra Gurgel, as well as the repercussions inside and outside of social media that may be related and results from the agenda brought by the movement. Finally, the study concludes that the movement was able to get achievements along its trajectory, as well as it was possible to observe repercussions related to the theme during the period analyzed in this research, but it is still just starting its endeavor, so that there are still improvements and challenges to be faced
