Educação escolar e sarau: o que expressam os professores sobre a presença de manifestações artístico-literárias na escola

Resumo: This study deals with the presence of artistic-literary manifestations at school. Having the soirées as a specific object, the main objective is to analyze some aspects of this presence based on what teachers who work in the Municipal Education Network of the city of São Paulo express and, to verify how this typical cultural practice of youth contributes to the cultural and criticism from teachers and students and for a democratic school. In this sense, interviews were conducted with four professors who answered twenty-eight questions organized into four thematic axes. The question that was investigated was the following: Teachers are faced with a dilemma: how to actually transform the school into a democratic one? Having as main theoretical support the contributions of authors of the Critical Theory of Society, Theodor Adorno and Herbert Marcuse, the concepts of formative experience, emancipation, cultural formation, engaged art and aesthetics were mobilized. The thesis that was formed from this study is that, even in the face of adversities in the face of the transformation of the school into a democratic one, there is a relationship between three aspects: what the teacher intends to do, what he is (considering training and experience) and working conditions
