Resumo: |
The present research had as goal the palliative care approach offered to the LGBTI+ people. And as objective sought to explicit the understandings on sexual and gender diversity of professionals who work with palliative care in the city of São Paulo. Considering that palliative cares aim to improve the people’s quality of life (adults or children) with diseases that threaten their life continuity and of their relatives; this approach is performed by a multiprofessional team, through the prevention and control of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual symptoms. Thus, it was assumed that the gender identities, the sexual orientation, and the bodies that compose the characteristics of all people should be embraced and respected. For this purpose, we made a study with a qualitative approach, anchored in the decolonial perspective and based on this theoretic-methodological axis, bibliographical and documental research of authors tuned with the decolonial perspective, with the decolonial feminism and other transgressive and subaltern knowledge were made, in an attempt of breaking with the epistemicide. For the gathering of empirical data, we made open interviews, with a basis on semi structured script, with five professionals considered significative for the study, being that all of them compose multi professional teams of palliative care and are from distinct area: 01 professional from Social Service, 01 from Psychology, 01 from Nursing, 01 from Physiotherapy and 01 from Medicine. From the vision of palliative professionals whom we dialogued, the analysis of conceptions concerning sexual and gender diversity allowed us to conclude that the knowledge about the theme is incipient to promote a quality care to the LGBTI+ people in palliative care. But they also pointed to comprehend how the LGBTIphobia impacts directly in the healthdisease process, as well as the necessity of inclusion of sexual and gender diversity themes during the professional trainings and formations, given that they believe that the teams are not prepared to dismiss appropriate assistance in the face of the health necessities and demands from LGBTI+ people. Therefore, the found results justify the relevance of this research and the necessary continuity of studies on this theme, mainly in Brazil |
