This dissertation, prepared as a test to accomplish a task linking of Criminology and Deconstruction, provided the philosophical basis of the thought of Jacques Derrida. In this sense, not limited to categories of criminological thought itself, we develop the analysis based on the theme of punishment, incarceration, or what is called in criminology of punitive populism, seeking evidence that might mean that the same violence occurs at an earlier time, and that such a situation perceived among many criminologists, may be, in fact, the extension of this earlier time, thus, a violence that is imposed by a tradition of rationality that is hegemonic in the West, known according to Adorno and the tradition of Frankfurt School in general as an instrumental reason.
