Resumo:	This research investigates the complex notion of context in natural language, which is central in contemporary semantics and pragmatics theories. It is a theoretical study that aims to bring to light the approach of context meaning within the external interface Linguistics-Communication-Cognition and within the internal interface Semantics-Pragmatics through the analysis of the Grice’s Theory of Implicatures (1991), Costa’s Master work (1984), the Relevance Theory, by Sperber & Wilson (1995) and the General Conversational Implicatures Theory, by Levinson (2000). The important data of the non-problematic description carried out here will be checked through the Millôr Fernandes’ humorous text.
