This study is a research topic of the carnival life of this institution and the Sports Association of Chiefs Charitable Restinga between 1977 and 2002, its role in the construction of identity and visibility of the Restinga district. Its analyzes the processes of spatial segregation in the city of Porto Alegre and the public housing policy. In addition, an overview aa dash from a literature review dealing with the transformations of the carnival in Porto Alegre. The process of founding the school of samba as well as structuring and consolidation, from interviews with community members and components of the samba school, and materials published in newspapers.
