Resumo: | Burning fossil fuels, which provides more than 85 % of the energy of the world, is one of the largest emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Recently, several mitigation techniques are being studied, including injections of carbon dioxide reservoirs in mature or depleted oil and deep saline aquifers. This work aims to store CO2 in the form mineral, through the magnesium carbonation of ions in a synthetic solution simulating thus conditions for a trapping geological CO2 (120 °C and 60 bar). The results showed the appearance of rhombohedra structures characteristic of magnesium carbonate and basic forms and anhydrous. The yield of the reaction of precipitation magnesium was 91,7 % after 3 hours of reaction. The formation of the precipitate of magnesium was between pH = 6 and 9 in 3 hours of reaction. In more time occur decrease in carbonate formation due competition between equilibrium formation and dissolution of precipitation. |
