Resumo: | This research presents a descriptive study of the performance of electoral coalitions in the first and second round of municipal elections in 2004 and 2008 in Porto Alegre, checking if there is any relationship between coalitions and coalitions proportional majority. The group studied consists of a total of 24 coalitions distributed as follows: in 2004, 6 coalitions proportional and 7 majority coalitions, in 2008, 5 coalitions proportional and majoritarian coalitions 6. To this end, we chose to work with institutional indicators related to legislation, the free television time for election to the council members and that could explain part of this relationship. The study describing the performance of coalitions from the results of both elections and electoral geography focuses on the majority of applications in the ten Electoral Areas in Porto Alegre and transfer of votes. |
