Resumo: | The present work proposes an analysis of sexual crimes occurred from 1938 to 1958 in Italian Colonial Region of Rio Grande do Sul, more specifically, in the Colony of Guaporé. The main purpose is to analyse the Italian immigration history of Rio Grande do Sul through the sexual criminality. It’s an entailment of the binomial History and Criminality, intending to investigate a little explored subject in the historiography of immigration. The police inquiries registered that time, presents a percentage of the sexual crimes occurred in the region, drawing a comparative with other studies relative to the subject. The approach seeks to put into context the region where the crimes had occurred, considering the several factors that implied straight or indirectly in the events. It presents a general chart of the social-moral values of the immigrant society in Serra Gaúcha and the relative interpretations to the sexuality. The chauvinist speech of society may be noticed in attributing elevated values of moral-sexual order – elaborated ideal and present in the traditional historiography of immigration. The lawful devices that framed the sexual crimes and the action of the Justice before the crimes of seduction and defloration were analysed. Following the statements of the people involved, the study describes factors that justified the seduction, as well as the victims and accused speeches before the Justice. The analysis of the documents is going to conclude that, behind the mythicized image of the Italian ethnic group, there were men and women that also exceeded sexual impulses and that incurred in sexual crimes. The criminal records relative to the seduction and the defloration show that the Italian community infringed the sexual order in the same proportions that other ethnic groups. On the other hand, the elements of lawful, moral and cultural order which intended to justify the referred crimes are the same of those found by other authors when the subject was mentioned. |
