This paper aims to discuss the familiar educational process in order to understand the educational strategies used by families with one or more children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. We consider that all systems in which these children and their families live have an influence and are influenced by this contact. Thus, two articles were written for the master thesis. In the first one, there is a review of the literature of ADHD characteristics and of educational strategies used by the parents of these children. The purpose of the second article is to research the educational strategies used by parents of children with ADHD and to discover which they consider more usefull in the education of these children. The results show that parents stressed by the dificulties of the educational process of their children were used to use more coercive than inductive strategies. Thus, health professionals must support and guide these parents in order to give them conditions to do what they think is more effective in relation to this situation.
